Bike Assist is back
CAA SCO offers roadside assistance to cyclists
Thornhill, ON – For the second year in a row, CAA South Central Ontario (CAA SCO) will offer cyclists the same kind of peace of mind we offer drivers.
Today, we are launching our Bike Assist program which is similar to our existing auto program. Avid or casual cyclists who are also CAA SCO members can call for roadside assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week if they get a flat tire, if their bike chain derails or pedal comes loose.
Repairing a flat tire for a cyclist is new this year to Bike Assist. CAA drivers will be outfitted with a tire sealant to repair minor punctures. The aim is to fix the bike on the spot and get the cyclist pedaling again. If that’s impossible, the bike and cyclist can be transported to their office, home or nearest bike shop depending on their membership. Members do not have to pay extra for the service provided by Bike Assist which is available throughout the CAA SCO region.
